Pulse is an exhibition of works by Rosie Weiss exhibited at the Mornington Penninsula Regional Gallery in 2006. These works mark a new beginning grounded in her long standing interest in organic forms, liquid states & the environment. Whereas the earlier works referred to the human body these works contain specific botanical references.
Many of the plants are common, selected from beached seaweeds, garden detritus & logging track debris. For the artist these plants suggest both the strength of the life force inherent in all living things & their fragility & beauty. These plants float across fluid backgrounds which in themselves invokes the landscape & its many moods.
